“Rejoice in hope, endure in affliction, persevere in prayer” Romans 12:12
While I know everyone is busy this Lenten season, I hope that you can take the time to join us on March 18, at the Country Club of York, to welcome our new sisters at the New Member Tea. You will also have the opportunity to meet a man who has truly rejoiced, endured, and persevered. Orphaned at 5 and thrown into an often cruel and indifferent world, Father Charles Ocul will tell us about his life’s journey into Christ’s hands. It is a story that will remain with you long after this season has passed.
In other business, Members voted to donate the club’s china to the Woman’s Care Center, minus eight place settings that will be auctioned off, to members only, at the fashion show this year. As you may recall, the china is donated with the codicil that once a year the Club may have a meeting at the center and use the china at that time.
Also, Mary Kustanbauter will be stepping down from her position as Treasurer and Terese Royer will assume the Treasurer’s position this March. We wish Mary all the best and thank her for all the work and new ideas she brought to the club.
The nominating committee has already begun to contact members to ask them to serve. Please consider donating your time to this very special organization. Especially needed are a newsletter editor and a recording secretary. If your skill set fits well with either of these positions and you would like to help, contact Mary Owings at 717 424-4390.
I’d also like to thank Dr Joanne Trapeni for all her hard work on the Farm to Freezer event, which will take place on March 31. It took a lot of effort to organize this event and it is appreciated.
Finally, as we progress through the Lenten season, let us offer up our prayers for the less fortunate in our community. Perhaps we could all give just a little bit more to organizations like the Harvest Food Pantry.
May God Bless You and Mary Keep You.
